Day in the life of a steel knock-out engineer

Shaun was a plasterer before joining Precision Investment Castings to work in the ‘Steel Knock-Out’ department as a machine operative.

An enthusiastic employee with an eye on the future, Shaun likes to use his hands and says; “you know you’ve done a good day’s work by the time the day is over.”

When asked what he enjoys the most about working at PIC, Shaun says; “the work is quite interesting, knowing that it is going into the aerospace industry but most of all it’s the people.”

Shaun aspires to progress into a supervisory role one day and admits that he doesn’t like to stand still for long. Outside of work he is a guitarist and his favourite song to play is Halleluiah by Geoff Buckley. He has an 11-year-old son and is a keen walker aiming to scale Ben Nevis in the near future.
