Keeping Our Foundry Fully Operational…

With summer now upon us, it is time to begin the second phase of planned preventative maintenance for this year. Regular cleaning and maintenance are required to ensure that our foundry is in full working order and that the risk of equipment failure is reduced greatly. Our aspiring engineer is making excellent progress!

Earlier this year, we offered our services to support aspiring Engineer Sam Wooler with his GCSE resistant materials project. Sam contacted us in February and explained that he had designed a casting that was to act as a base for the spring-back cricket stumps that he was producing in his class. He told us that he had encountered a problem during production as his school’s crucible could not hold enough aluminium to produce the casting.
